Projekt Inconvenient Mobility a výstava Vysídlená paměť se zaměřily na téma nucené migrace po druhé světové válce. Během projektu jsme pořídili dvacet pět rozhovorů s pamětníky z pěti zemí a dvanáct z nich jsme představili prostřednictvím putovní venkovní výstavy, která všechny zúčastněnými zeměmi projela. Pamětníci, kteří museli po válce opustit své domovy, se tak vrátili domů, a to prostřednictvím svých vzpomínek. Symbolicky na kolech putovního výstavního nosiče – návěsu kamionu.
V květnu 1945 skončila druhá světová válka, nikoli ale utrpení které způsobila. Evropa ležela v troskách, hranice států se rýsovaly odznovu. Nejen ve válce samé, ale i v poválečné realitě byly miliony lidí nuceny opustit své domovy. Ať už našly útočiště v blízkém příhraničí nebo v tisíce kilometrů vzdálené cizině, ať už je od jejich rodišť dělila železná opona, či ne, museli znovu začít budovat své existence od nuly. Tím přispěli k vytvoření Evropy, ve které žijeme dnes.
Projekt zaznamenává vzpomínky pamětníků jedné z největších evropských migračních vln, je ale zároveň dialogem. Dialogem mezi generacemi i dialogem mezi kulturami neboť tazatelé jsou mladí lidé ze země původu pamětníků. Na projektu se podílí partneři z České republiky (Post Bellum, Praha), Slovenska (Post Bellum SK, Bratislava), Německa (Gedenkstätte Bautzner Strasse, Dresden), Polska (Centrum Historii Zajezdnia, Wroclaw) a Chorvatska (Documenta, Zagreb)

The project Inconvenient Mobility and the exhibition Dispmaced Memory focused on the topic of forced migration after the second world war. In the scope of the project we have conducted twenty five interviews with witnesses from five countries. Twelve of these life-stories were introduced to the public through a travelling open-air exhibition that visited all participating countries. The memories of witnesses, who had to leave their homes after the war, have thus symbolically returned home. Our exhibiton traveled literally on wheels – it was carried by a truck carrier that visited open spaces in Euroepan cities.
In 1945, the second world war came to its end. However, human suffering, that it caused, prevailed. Europe was in ashes, state bounderies were re-drawn. Not only in the war itself, but also in the post-war political realities, millions of people were forced to leave their birthplaces. Whether they found new homes only a few kilometres away or in a distant place, whether separated from their birthplaces by the Iron Curtain or not, they had to build their existence anew and from scratch. By doing so, they helped to create the Europe we live in today.
The project saves memories of the last witnesses of one of the greates European migration waves but it is at the same time a dialogue. A dialogue between generations, a dialogue between cultures. The witnesses toldtheir stories in cooperation with an interviewer from the country of their birth. It was a joint project of Czech Post Bellum, German Gedenkstätte Bautzner Strasse, Polish Centrum Historii Zajezdnia, Croatian Documenta and Slovak Post Bellum SK.
